I frequently recommend virtual conference (VC) services as a way to extend f2f experiences and expand audience (customer, member)
engagement. I like to present and participate in virtual settings.
During the month of June 2010, I am attending ASTD 2010 Virtual Conference This VC is based on the 2010 International Conference & Expo (ICE) held in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
When I register for a VC, I immediately schedule live online events to my Outlook calendar — they become a commitment just like a scheduled f2f meeting.
Today I am experiencing some withdrawal because a dozen days of mid-day (Austin, Texas USA time) live webinars have come to a close. Since May 26, I have enjoyed an array of excellent live online experiences. I really looked forward to my mid-day learning break, from the convenience of my office, connecting with colleagues across the country and around the globe.
I still have access to some 50 recorded online sessions through June 26. I will tap into these frequently over the next couple of weeks. As an ASTD member, I applaud the organization of the VC, quality of content, e-tools, and learning opportunities. These experiences whet my appetite for the 2011 f2f International Conference & Expo. Hope I can attend. If not, I already look forward to the 2011 VC.
